The ukulele unit with the 3rd and 4th grade students has been very engaging.  The students are learning to play Jamaican Farewell with a complex strumming pattern.  They are performing My Darling Clementine for the class and learning to play You are My Sunshine with multiple chords.

Harmonizers are doing an amazing job preparing for the upcoming musical.  They will also be performing at the Fine Arts Night on April 27 at 6:00 p.m.

The Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade students have been practicing the song “Who’s That Tapping at the Window” and “John the Rabbit” with call and response.  We have added a variety of rhythm instruments including wood blocks, hand drums, and triangles. The Preschool, PreK and Kindergarten students have done a wonderful job with the songs “I Love the Mountains” and “Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me.”

We have been learning about the life and music of Claude Debussy.  This Impressionist Composer wrote music at the same time that Claude Monet was painting his Impressionist artworks.

The second grade students are learning to play the recorder on Love Me Tender.  They are singing and playing wood blocks on the songs John the Rabbit and Here is a Bunny. I’m so proud of their progress in music class!
