We are also learning to play the metallophone and xyolphone.  The students are learning to play hands together and alternating hands on the barred instruments with multiple ostinato (repeating) patterns.  We are singing the song “Let Her Go, Go” from the Caribbean with shakers, hand drums, and clapping patterns

In 3rd and 4th grade, we have been learning to play the ukuleles. The students are singing folk songs including “My Darling Clementine” and “It Ain’t Gonna Rain” and accompanying themselves on the ukuleles.  We are learning to play the C, G, and F chords.  If you are interested in purchasing a ukulele for your child to practice at home, please visit the Music Room in Palatine or visit their website at http://the-music-room.net/
